ENTANGLEMENT 9

Five months down the line, It dawned on Khalid that his wife was never coming back, though he pleaded with her and also involved some close family members, instead she remained adamant and stood by her decision of never going back to him, they got divorced and made an agreement that their only son would be taken care of by Khalid, she didn’t mind because she knew Khalid loved his son and so he would be safe with him, moreover she needed to move on without having any setback.

Muna had a baby girl when it was due for her delivery, he was happy at the birth of the child and gave his support both in cash and kind.

It was more than a year when Khalid decided to get married to Muna, as he couldn’t remain alone and he needed someone to care for his son Hakeem, Also since he has a child with Muna it was a fair decision to make her his wife. Muna also took in her initial daughter, Ella, that has been with her mother all the while to be a part of the new family.

Life happened to be sweet for the past fifteen years until this recent occurrence of Ella having to be  pregnant for Hakeem, unknown to both Khalid and Muna, their kids having sex on several occasions in the same house, Muna was the most saddened person of them all, It was like a gene of bad luck passed from her to her daughter, it was also like a kind of punishment for forcefully taking what naturally does not belong to her.

The depressed couple got home that day after leaving the hospital where Ella was admitted, Muna refused to say a word to Khalid after they left the hospital, but Khalid broke the silence when they got home.

“What are we going to do now?”

“I don’t know” she replied in the coerce voice that signified how depressed she was

“Don’t say you don’t know, we have a grave matter on our hands” He persuaded her

“What do you want me to say? Why don’t you go to talk to that useless son of yours and ask him why he was sleeping with my daughter”

“You know you shouldn’t be throwing grabs at anyone, because apparently we are to be blamed for this misfortune, we were not looking out for the kids enough”

“I was always looking out for Ella”

“Oh really, so why didn’t you notice she was busy opening her legs for Hakeem?”

“Don’t try to put the blame on me”

“Listen, I’m not blaming you okay, all I’m saying is that we need to come to a decision”

“I’ve already made a decision, we are leaving”

“Leaving to where?”

“I’m taking Ella away from here”

“Are you out of your mind?”

“What else would you have us do?  Have the baby under the same roof, how is that suppose to happen? how are we going to explain it to people?”

“Where would you go?”

“I don’t know but somewhere far from here”

“What about the baby, are you going to tamper with it?”

“Only if the doctor had not said it was dangerous, I would have”

“Well I still do not support you leaving with Ella and the baby, what do you expect I, Hakeem and Bella to do?”

“Bella is coming with us while you and Hakeem can go to hell” Muna rose immediately to begin to pack some of her clothes

“What are you doing? Are you leaving already?”

“Obviously, we will be gone as soon as Ella is out of the hospital”

“You can’t survive all by yourself Muna” He went to meet her where she stood and struggled with her to stop packing, she began to cry bitterly until she got weak and fell on his arms still in tears.

ENTANGLEMENT 8

It’s been a whole week and still no response from Khalid, this made Muna so frustrated, he wasn’t replying her messages or picking her calls, during the week she would cry and feel so terrible because of the way she was been treated, Jennifer only made it worse for her as she subsequently made a jest of her. Eventually she came into a conclusion that an action must be taken, if not she will be at the loose end, luckily for her, she already knew where Khalid lived with his family and thought of handling the matter in her own way by informing Khalid’s wife of the atrocity her husband has committed.

Khalid wife turned out to be as welcoming as possible but became so hurt when Muna broke the news to her
“I am pregnant for your husband and it's best you tell him to act accordingly because he has no other choice” She spoke to her and walked away after leaving a copy of the medical results
Khalid’s wife was so devastated at the news she got from Muna, she felt so betrayed by her husband that she trusted so much, she knew will be unable to cope living with a man that had the guts to have an affair. With tears in her eyes she packed most of her belongings in a box, she was almost leaving the house with the box when Khalid showed up
“Are you going somewhere?” He asked her and that made her bust into tears, she cried profusely and expressed how disgusted she felt over what he did. After much effort in trying to convince her not to leave, she made her way out of the house finally, assuring him that she was never going to come back, Khalid wondered how she knew about  his affair with Muna in the first place, he became convinced that it must have been Muna that gave out such information.
Angrily, he stormed out of the house, and rushed off the where Muna lived because he was sure he was going to find her there, He was correct, she was eating when he got there
“How could you do this Muna?” He nagged, she pushed her food away and faced him
“What did I do?” she asked in pretense
“Don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about”
“If it’s about your wife, I’d say that you left me with no other choice”
“I told you to give me some time”
“One week Khalid, One whole week I didn’t hear anything from you, I just had to do what I had to do”
“Do you even realize the problem this has caused, it has cost me my marriage, my wife was not suppose to know like this, you should have been a little more patient with me”
“Patient for what exactly, so you’d come to tell me to terminate the pregnancy, God forbid, I can’t allow that to happen to me, but seriously Khalid, I thought it was something we both wanted, to finally be together, I’m having a child for you, it’s a perfect excuse for us to start a family of our own…..come on now” She was calm as she spoke to him, Khalid removed her hands from his body
“It wasn’t suppose to be like this” He said
“Don’t you love me anymore?”
“I don’t know if I do not after what you’ve done”
“I love you and that’s why I did what I did to keep you, I want you Khalid” she tried to kiss him but he avoided the kiss
“I have to go”
“We are not done talking”
“We have nothing to talk about, I will let you know when I’ve made a decision” He told her and walked out of the house afterward with Muna calling after him, he ignored her completely and it made her sad, confused and devastated.

ENTANGLEMENT 7

As time went by, Muna and Khalid's relationship continued, their desire and sexual involvement did not in any way slack, they always create time to see and make love and this happened often in different hotels without the knowledge of Khalid's wife, he was smart enough to keep it from her so well caused he feared the damages it might have on her.

In the long run, Muna eventually got pregnant which she intentionally allowed it to happen, she got a medical result to prove it to Khalid, she called him to meet her somewhere so they could talk about it

"What!" Khalid screamed, he was in utmost disbelieve "What did you just say?" He asked again hoping he heard wrongly the first time

"I said that I'm pregnant, I'm three weeks gone already, see here is the result, you can check it if you don't believe me" She stretched an envelope and glanced through the paper that was in it

"Oh my God, how did we let this happen?" He said with grieve

"How was it not suppose to happen, we have had sex countless times Khalid, and I'm not barren so getting pregnant shouldn't be a surprise" She said to him 

"Oh my God, this shouldn't be happening, this shouldn't be happening now" he lamented as the dropped the papers on the table

"Well it has happen, we just have to decide what to about it" She said while fixing the papers back into her bags "So whats going to be our next step?"

"Listen Muna, I need you to give me time to process all of this"

"I don't get, what's there for you to process?"

"You don't expect me to make a decision now" 

"Khalid if you are thinking of telling me to have an abortion, that's never going to happen"

"I don't know Muna, I don't know what to think"

"Why are you making the whole thing a big deal? I thought you loved me and wanted us to be together"

"I have a wife Muna, and that's the more reason you shouldn't be pregnant"

"Oh really, it that what it is about now, you suddenly realise that you have a wife and I don't matter anymore"

"Muna you are getting it all wrong" He made effort to touch her

"Don't touch me, God! I can't believe you are telling me all this after the number of times you've told me you love me, the nights we spent together, after everything we shared"

"I do love you Muna" He tried to touch her again

"Don't touch me, now listen, I don't care about whatever havoc this might cause but you see this baby, I'm going to have it whether or not you like it" She stood up and walked out on him

Muna was almost home when she pondered about the whole situation of things, she was so scared that Khalid may decide not to have anything to do with her, the nurturing of the child was beyond her capacity especially with the fact that she already had a child she wasn't finding it easy in caring for, Khalid was her only hope of survival at that point in time, moreover, she loved him and was desperately willing to make him hers, having a child for him seemed to be the only way to make it possible.

Muna arrived home that day, she didn't meet Jennifer indoors, so she carelessly dropped her bags on the bed, she left the room to the bathroom, just then Jennifer entered the room, she immediately knew Muna was around on seeing her bags and shoe littered on the floor

"Why would you come back and scatter your things like this" She complained as she help in picking up her shoes and went over pick her bags, it dropped and all the items in the bag poured out, as she arranged the items, she stormed on the medical result "What is this?" She asked herself, she was curious so she opened it to check what was detailed in it "What!" she screamed

"What the hell are you doing Jennifer, what are you going through my bag" Muna spoke to her in anger, she hurriedly collected the bag from her but Jennifer was still holding the paper

"Muna you are pregnant, Muna you are pregnant" she said repeatedly, Muna grabbed the paper from her

"You have no right to go through my things" Muna said

"So you are truly pregnant, jeeeez I can't believe this, Muna has killed me, What!"

"What ever that is going on with me is non of your business"

"How could you let this happen to you again?"

"This time around its different okay"

"Different how, because it belongs to Khalid" Muna did not respond, "Wait is it Khalid's?"

"It's none of your business"

"You are pregnant for a married man and you say it's none of my business, what were you thinking, that he's going to leave his wife for you?" Jennifer continued nagging but Muna chose to remain quiet, she walked out of the room instead

Muna knew it was not going to end there, Jennifer would continue shouting and talking if she stayed close to her, she had never supported her relationship with Khalid from the onset, as far as Muna was concerned, Jennifer was never going to understand the kind of love she has for Khalid, the only thing bothering her that moment was the response she would get from Khalid regarding the forth coming baby.

ENTANGLEMENT 6

It turned out to be an exciting journey to Abuja, they traveled by road accompanied with two other friends of Khalid, Muna was kind of shy and uncomfortable being in their mist but Khalid tried as much as possible to make her feel free

They lodged in an hotel booked two rooms, Khalid and Muna were to stay in one of the rooms, it was a beautifully and expensively furnished room when they were eventually alone, Muna took her bath when Khalid came close to her on the bed, they looked into each other eyes for a moment, got closer and kissed her to a point of no return, Muna felt in a way she has never felt in the arms of any man, they made love that night, a long wave of pleasure.

“How do you feel?” Muna asked when they took a break, she was still wrapped in his arms

“Uhh…… honestly Muna I can’t explain” Khalid replied sincerely lost of words

“I have never enjoyed sex as much as I did today”

“Really?” He raised her head from his chest

“Yeah”

“Wow, I think I can say same for me too”

“Oh please”

“I’m serious, I think I told you from the start that I feel completely different when I’m with you”

“Then how would you explain the way you feel with your wife?”

“My wife was just someone I had to get married to”

“How do you mean?”

“I admire her a lot, she is a good person but, I don’t know, the spark and everything that brought us together is no longer there, I feel bored in my marriage, nothing thrills me in the whole thing”

“Then why did you marry her”

“Honestly it’s a long story and I don’t feel like talking about it all I just want to do right now is to kiss you” He dipped his lips into her mouth, they kissed for a minute then Muna paused

“Khalid I’m scared”

“Scared about what?”

“I’m a lady, I’m scared that I might fall too deep for you that I won’t be able to let go”

“It’s okay babe, the feeling is mutual”

“How long do you think this is going to last?”

“For as long as we want it to, I will still want you around me for a long time” He said and Muna gave a smile

“I can’t forever be an option” She said has she moved away from him

“Hey, come here” He pulled her back to his arm “You are not an option”

“That’s what you think, you are married, I’ll also want to get married too”

Khalid gave a heavy sign, “I know right, I’ll be selfish to keep you, I just want to be happy and you make me happy”

“What about me, don’t you care about my happiness?”

“I do, I care a lot about your happiness just as I’m willing to do anything that will make you happy, come here” He pulled her close and kissed her and it continued like that.

Muna knew that there was no way she was going to let go of Khalid, apart from the fact that she was deeply in love with him, he was everything she hoped for in a man, She knew that Khalid was heads over heels for her, she knew he wanted her all to himself, but chances to make that happen was unattainable, the worse that could happen was Khalid leaving his wife to be with her, left to her she didn’t mind as long as the outcome makes her fulfilled.

The adventure at Abuja was mixed with lots of laughter, fun and more sex, It was a splendid marriage ceremony, they left Abuja wishing the whole experience would never come to an end.
